When do you use 'do', 'play', or 'go' with physical or everyday activities?
Especially when it comes to "boxing", what do you say? "do boxing", "play boxing", or "go boxing"

That's a good question. I would like to add something else. Here is a rule of thumb:
We usually use the verb "play" when we are talking about competitive team sports involving a ball. Hockey, tennis, golf, volleyball, etc. (and hockey. not a ball but close enough)
We also use "play" for card games, board games, and general childhood games.
We usually use the verb "go" when we are talking about an outdoor activity that requires travelling or could be used as a means of travel. Walking, hiking, swimming, running, camping, skating. (They all end in -ing as well.)
In the case of boxing, it doesn't involve a ball or travel. You box. He boxes. They boxed.

You don't use "do", "play", or "go". You simply use the verb "to box". Examples: "Joe is going to box next Saturday night at the gym." "Have you ever seen Muhammed Ali box?" "How often does he box?" "I like to wrestle, but I don't like to box."
