Hello c: could you tell me the difference between drift out, drift in, drift away?
I now realise that when I look for a meaning of a verb in a dictionary I sometimes read in the examples that say for example in this case:
No one noticed that the boat had begun to drift OUT to sea.
A mist drifted IN from the marshes.
It means that the verb has only one meaning but you can add "adverbs?"
to it.I believe thats the real question i've got haha why do you add out or away or in or other adverbs .. If you understand my question please I'll be glad to read your answers *-* thank you in advance ;)))

When something is "Drifting Out" it means that it is leaving and going away.
When something is " Drifting In" it means that it is arriving and coming into the general area.
When something is "Drifting Away" it means that it is drifting away FROM YOU and that it is leaving YOU. (That is unless you classify if its drifting away FROM something.)
