Why are there so many 'ee' sounds in Greek?
For example υ/η/ι/ει/οι/υι.
I saw another answer which said that ο/ω used to be pronounced differently in ancient Greek. Is that the same thing happening with the 'ee'? Or because they have different root languages? Or some other reason?
Also what is the difference between ε/αι?
Thanks!
