ください and お願いします sometimes have the same meaning, ex) If you are in a cake shop, and you decided to purchase three cakes. Then, you will say as follows 「これとこれとこれをください」 by pointing out these three cakes. Or 「これとこれとこれをお願いします」 by doing the same thing above. お願いします is often used as an indepent phrase but くださいneeds the object with particle を as Adoemon says. And in the case of used as auxiliary verb, you can put only te-form before ください. Of course, you can put the object before お願いします with particle を too. ex) 　ジュースをください　　○　　　　ジュースをお願いします　　○ 　　　 話してください　 　　　○ 話してお願いします　　　　× However.... そのことについて話して！お願いします! is fine.

動詞の「下さい」には目的語が必要です。 例「メロンパン(を)下さい」 漢字で書かない助動詞の「ください」は、丁寧に要求をする時に使います。 例「メロンパンを食べてください」 「お願いします」はもう完全な文章です。要求した後に使います。 例「その手紙を送ってくださいませんか。」「ええ？今、忙しいですが…」「お願いします!」 直訳してもいいです。「お願いします」は「お願い」を「します」という意味です! Kudasai would be the auxiliary verb going along with "eat." Onegaisimasu litterally means "I am asking for a favour." You use it after having asked for one. Eg "Can you post this letter for me?" やってほしいことを人にたのむときには、「お願いします」 自分がほしいものを人にほしいと伝えるときには、「ください」 と感じます。 ただ、「ください」にはたくさんの意味があるので、 他の方が書いている意味に変わったりもします。

「お願いします」は、pleaseになります。 人に物を頼むとき、や懇願する時に使います。 また、丁寧に言うと、「お願いします」は、「よろしく」がついて、「宜しくお願います」になります。 英語だと、 I beg your kindness.になります。 使う場面は、 I thank you for your kindness/hard work in advance.」（仕事を頼んだ時） 「I beg your kindness for my children.」（学校の先生に対して） 「Send my regards to + 人」（誰かに「宜しく」と伝えてください）などです。

They mean exactly the same. 『お願いします』 is used in formal situations.
