What does mean "blotto" in this case?

Ahh, one of my friends uses this word often. :)
"Get blotto" means to get drunk. Think of blotting paper, ie. a kind of paper which is used to soak up liquid.
We have hundreds of funny expressions for being drunk. I prefer to say "maggoted". What an image.

It is an email:
"Anne: Hey, let's blow off work early, go to a bar, pretend we're single. And rested. Either one. Maybe both.
Allison: Would love to get blotto, sadly can't. Have to go to New York and blow somebody. "
