I have lived there when I was a child. Is this sentence correct? Thank you :) I believe that it's not, and that it should either be : I have lived there since I was a child. Or I lived there when I was a child. What do you think? Is there any context in which the first sentence could be correct?

"I lived there when I was a child." Only implies that you lived there as a child, no longer. "I have lived there since I was a child." Implies that you haven't lived there since you were a child. So I guess it depends what exactly you are trying to communicate.

You should say, " I have lived there since I was a child." you can also say "I lived there when I was a child." so yes you are right to believe that the original sentence is not correct.

As Tyler explained. The two examples you offered as corrections actually have different meanings. The second example "I lived there when I was a child", is the correct one to replace your original sentence; "I have lived there when I was a child".
