'Sudah' and 'telah' I'm confused about the different uses of the words 'sudah' and 'telah' in Malay. Can anyone provide me with some common examples of the use of both?

ada perbezaan nuansa antara telah dan sudah. 'telah' lebih banyak digunakan dalam formal written. Ada subtle maksud 'complete, yet ...' 'Sudah' lebih versatile penggunaannya speaking and written dan ada maksud totally or completely done.

I think everyone is right they are synonyms but not exact in my experience. I think sudah sounds more final. I would use telah if I was intending to add another thought i.e. "saya telah sampai tapi..." or "saya telah sampai dan..." but that might be a personal thing.

There's no different between 'Sudah' and 'telah' .

Thanks very much! I'm trying to concentrate on colloquial spoken Malay so it's very useful to know the most common usage :) I think, like you say, the question may be too old to add an answer.
