"Tackar" as a greeting?
Is there a difference between "tack (så mycket)", and "tackar" as a greeting. I saw in my course "Tackar" used alone, as "Thank you".
I know that "tack" is use for "thank you" and "jag tackar dig" means "I thank you", but I wonder if we use them in different contexts.

"Tackar" is a slightly more formal way of saying "tack (så mycket)". It isn't used as a greeting as such, just to show appreciation. I've never heard anyone say "jag tackar dig", but sometimes people say "tack ska du ha", which is even more formal than "tackar".
