That's one of my mom's common misuse of -ㄴ.
궁금한 goes with noun like topics, people, and place.
궁금하다 is like a verb in Korean. And as you want to use this with 본, 적, you may add another 해. (궁금하다->궁금해 하다->궁금해 해보다)
~는지 궁금해 해 본적 있나요?
~먹어본 적 있나요?
~가본 적 있나요?
~가르쳐 본적 있나요?
~싫어해 본적 있나요?
