messaging someone here is confusing! Help please
So I read that you need to follow someone in order to send a message to them but if that is the case, why have I received multiple messages from different people and only 1 is following? How are they sending me the message? I would like to send messages too but I'm not quite understanding the process. This is also the first social network type thing I have ever done if you can't tell lol.

You can change it from your profile options so that you'll receive messages only by those following you. Look into privacy settings, I think.

Hi Lala, following or being followed isn't a requirement for messaging. You can control messaging in your Privacy settings. Just click on your profile picture, choose Settings, click the Privacy tab and set your Contact Permissions. You can't message people who have their Contact Permissions set to "People I'm following" if they're not following you already. In this case, you should follow them and wait for them to accept your request before you can message them. Hope this helps :)
