African Slang?? and trends
What are some African slang terms (with meaning) and trends?
For example, I know Zef is a popular slang in Africa, and an African trend is no front teeth. Are there more?
In America, Some slang:
yall (you all)
aggy (annoying, aggravating)
selfie (picture taken of yourself)
and American trends are
Ugg Boots
Fake nails
fishtail braid/long hair.

Africa is a massive continent with a multitude of culture and languages.
Zef is popular in South Africa only (other African countries don't speak Afrikaans and therefore are not familiar with the culture).
Also, in South Africa not having front teeth is only common in coloured people and not other african people.
Since there are so many languages spoken in Africa (there are 11 in South Africa alone) it's nearly impossible to sum up slang in the entire continent.
But some examples:
Braai - this is barque in South Africa
yebo: Yes.
tsotsi: A gangster
toyi-toyi- protest
skolli- gangster
skelm- an untrustworthy person
skebenga- gangster
shebeen- an informal tavern
rooinek- an English speaker
lekker- nice
kif- cool
jol - party
chommie- friend
bru- a term of affection for males
bakkie- pick up truck
