Asking "What's new?" in Irish. 1. I saw in an Irish dictionary that "Cén scéal?" means "What's new?" (or "What's the news?" / "What's the news?" Is that correct? 2. Can I say "Cén scéal atá aige?" to ask "What's new with him?" 3. How can you respond with "nothing" to this question? Just say "rud ar bith"?

Yes, you can say "Cén scéal?" as a greeting. You could say "Cén scéal atá aige?", or else "An bhfuil aon scéal aige?" To reply "nothng", it would be better to say "Scéal ar bith". Is maith scéal gan drochscéal (no news is good news)
