Use of "and" in Korean
안냥!
So I'm trying to figure out why there are different constructions with "and" and when you use them. For instance, I've seen these two sentences:
한국에서 살고 한국어 하고 싶어요.
I think this means "I want to go to Korea and I want to speak Korean." Or something similar...?
그리고 영어, 한국어, 스페인어 할 수 있어요.
I can speak English, Korean, and Spanish.
So when do you use 살고 and when do you use 그리고? Is there a certain word order?
감사해요!Thanks everyone for your help! I think I'm starting to get it. Are these sentences saying what I hope they're saying?
저는 영어하고 독일어하고 스패이느어하고 러시아어 잘 할 수 있어요.
I can speak English, German, Spanish, and Russian well.
그리고 한국어 할 수 있어요.
I can also speak Korean.
중국어 말라요. 저는 대만에 가고 중국어를 공부하고 싶어요.
I don't know Chinese. I am going to Taiwan (do I need the future tense here? I'm not sure how to construct this with the future tense) and I want to study Chinese.
감사해요!!!!

No, 살고 here comes from the basic form 살다 (to live). The 고 joins two sentences into one compound sentence.
한국에서 살다 -> To live in Korea
한국어를 하고 싶어요 -> I want to speak Korean
한국에서 살고 한국어를 하고 싶어요 -> I want to live in Korea and speak Korean.
그리고 links two separate sentence, adding more information to a previous statement.

They serve similar purposes, grammar wise...
1. The following are used for saying doing something "with" something
과/와
랑/이랑
하고
제가 친구(와/랑/하고) 쇼핑해요 = I shop with my friend
All three particles in the bracket are interchangeable
2. verb + 고, Used for connecting compound sentences (verbs only)
제가 한국에 살고 한국어를 배우고 있어요 = I live in Korea AND am learning Korean.
3. 그리고, All around versatile "AND" with multiple applications
A, B, C, 그리고 D... (good for listing things and combining sentences)
제가 영어와 한국어와 그리고 스페인어를 말할 수 있어요 = I can speak English, Korean, and Spanish
