What is Buttercup Girls? A doorbell rings, and a man steps towards the door. And there are two little girls who hold small boxes saying "Buttercup Girls!" with smiles. The man takes out some money from a wallet with a fixed expression on his face. Questoin. Do you have any idea what 'Buttercup Girls' is? I searched internet for this, however it appears that there's nothing about it but just a strange cartoon character with massive green eyes. I'm guessing this might be something similar to trick-or-treat thing during Christmas. Do you ever experience this Buttercup Girls thing by any chance? It's like little girls visit someone's house to sell the small boxes (maybe cookies or anything in it). I really am curious to know this. Anyone who know of this? Thanks.

A good guess, but I think this is unlikely to be a scene from Halloween. Generally, during Halloween, people behind the doors *give* candy to the children who come to the door, rather than *buy* candy from the children. I think this is a scenario where girl scouts come to the door to sell cookies to fundraise. In America, girl (and boy) scouts often sell cookies to finance their operations, and "buttercup cookies" are a popular type of cookies. The girls are saying "buttercup girls" basically to mean "Hi, we're girl scouts and we're selling buttercup cookies!" PS Americans do not trick-or-treat during Christmas, but during Halloween! :)

I agree with Brian that it's meant to be an organization similar to the Girl Scouts who sell cookies door-to-door as a fundraiser. As far as I know, there's no actual organization called the Buttercup Girls.
