I guess you already know in Spain we use "familiar words" for TV and media. Almost no one says "vamos a ver la televisión", instead we say "tele". Televisión is obviously used in formal environments but if you talk to your family or friends, you usually use tele. Besides, when talking about movies, "películas", if I talk to my friends I usually say "peli" (¡vamos al cine a ver una peli!) instead of "película". ¿Puedes cambiar de canal al fútbol? ¿Puedes cambiar y poner el fútbol?
