How would you interpret ‘wish for’ here? Mrs. Brown stands at the ready, her suitcase already packed, though the trip is six weeks away. No price is too high for this joy. Her thrill for adventure is a thing I dearly wish I could learn by example. She makes me wish for the boy who once could swim miles underwater, looking for treasure. How would you interpret ‘wish for’ in the last sentence: She makes me wish for the boy…? PS: The boy was the narrator himself when he was a child. Thanks! And it’s from The Lacuna.

Mrs Brown's excitement, her thrill for adventure reminds the narrator of his own sense of adventure when he was a boy - he wishes he was still like the boy he once was.
