"향" vs. "냄새"?
Usually when talking about smell, I have heard or used 냄새. "그 커피는 냄새가 좋다."
But in a song I heard 향 used as smell. I've never heard of 향, so I was wondering if it is not used very often?
Thank you for your help!
When something smells good, we usually use 향기.
냄새 means every smells including both good and bad things. So we don't use like 지독한 향기(X)ㅡ지독한 냄새(O). 향 is almost same as 향기, but most people use 향 on a liquid, not 향기 I think.

It is also often used in everyday Korean.
"향(or 향기)" means "좋은 냄새".

향(香) means fragrant and usually they say 향기(香氣) which means fragrant air or something that smells good. 냄새 is a native term which means smell, as in the sense of smell.
