Algunas preguntas de un examen español que me confundieron, necesito ayuda!
1. ¨¿Cuánto tiempo hace que no... al extranjero?¨ - la respuesta correcta es 'viajarás' pero no entiendo la frase. Alguien puede ayudarme a traducir esta frase en inglés.
2. ¨Verónica nunca... quién llamó anoche.¨ las respuestas son 'supo' y 'conoció' y la respuesta correcta es supo. No lo sé por qué! Yo pensaba que es usado en una situación que se involucra a una persona. Puede explicarme la rázon que es 'supo'.
3. ¨Hasta ayer no.... de dónde era ella.¨
'Conocía' y 'sabía¨ son las respuestas y escogí 'conocía¨ porque se involucra un lugar. Esto no es correcto y yo quisiera saber por qué también. Gracias!

1. I think the correct word is "viajas" ("¿Hace cuánto tiempo que no viajas al extranjero?"). "Viajarás" is the future of "viajar" (you will travel).
2. you're right, the word is "supo" (pretérito perfecto simple in Spanish) because the action was completed. "saber" indicates knowledge about a topic.
3. you're right again, the word is "sabía" (pretérito imperfecto in Spanish) because the action still is not completed.

Saber in the second sentence refers to a fact, the call she received, in the third sentence it refers to a specific information (the place she comes from), if you say no conocía el lugar de donde era ella (I'd say de donde ella es) you meant that you had not been to the place she is from. We use the verb conocer with places to mean that we visited that place. That's why you will find many Spanish speakers say "Do you know Colombia?" when they mean "Have you ever been to Colombia?". 1. Viajarás sounds totally wrong in that sentence. It should be viajas. I would reword it like this: hace cuánto tiempo no viajas al extranjero.
2 and 3: El verbo saber se usa para hablar del conocimiento que se tiene o no se tiene de una información.
