'I recommend you to do...' vs 'I recommend you do...'. Which one is correct?
For example:
- I recommend you read this book.
- I recommend you to read this book.
As far as I know, we shouldn't use the preposition 'To' in that sentence. But I'm not sure. So, is the second sentence wrong?

Yes - they are both OK. They are actually different constructions - the first one (without "to") has an implied "that".
a) recommend + (that +) subject + independent clause
b) recommend + object + to + base verb
