"in which" vs. "in that"
The diet may be prescribed for someone with any disease …(?)… there is an abnormal retention of fluid.
1) in which
2) in that
Which one is correct? Can we use both of them interchangeably?Is "in that" ALWAYS incorrect?

Here 'in which' is correct. It means in the disease. 'Which' refers to the noun 'disease' before. But 'in that' is not a wrong usage. 'In that' can sometimes be replaced by 'because'. For example, I love chemistry in that it is very interesting.
