of course they speak fast. it is scripted: the characters know exactly what they are going to say before saying it. all the words are planned and practiced. It's not the way people speak naturally . In reality, people think as they speak and commonly hesitate and have filler-words and pauses. You need a friend or teacher to help you understand what they are saying and how they are saying it. Try interviews on CNN.

If you can find it, I would recommend Full House. It is a family show from the 1990s with several children in the cast, so the plots of the episodes are more obvious and everyone speaks more clearly with simple language for the kids. There are lots of pauses in the dialogue, too. Good luck!
