The definition I got for "New Age" is a broad movement characterized by alternative approaches to traditional Western culture.  Mr Krabs coming up with the idea to have Spongebob and Squidward exchange gifts in the workplace would be considered a New Aged idea.  Squidward obviously not happy about the idea, which is why Mr Krabs said what he said.
