How can I say in English "Te quiero"
In Spanish, "Te quiero" is different to "Te amo", while in English, is the same "I love you" but I want to know if is possible to say "I want you" as "Te quiero" instead of "I love you".
Here in Perú, for example, to brother, friend, or any person who we apreciate, we say "Te quiero" and not "Te amo", in general "Te amo" is used to say to couple romantic, also not at the begin of the relationship, we say "Te amo" only when we have a considerable time with the other person.
In other words, "Te amo" is used to speciall person in our life, like a son, or mom, or couple.
Thanks,

En inglés si dices "I want you" es como "te quiero" para algo en concreto, no como sentimiento de amor. Por ejemplo: Te quiero para ese puesto de trabajo. = I want you for that job. O te quiero de vuelta = I want you back.
Sin embargo, I love you se puede traducir de ambas maneras al español: "te quiero" o "te amo", y aunque para ti pueda tener significados diferentes, pienso que significa más o menos lo mismo, aunque sí que tienen matices distintos.

You use "I love you" for both in English. The difference is in how you say it and the context. When I say "I love you" to my mom, she knows it's not romantic. For your friends, it's in how you say it.

Thanks, but how can I know if the other person understand the correct message of me? If I say I love you when the feeling is not intense, maybe the other persona could get a wrong impression.
