Question about some lines of a sitcom
I'm watching a old sitcom called The Golden Girls. There's some lines I can't understand.
1.
Dorothy:Morning.
Rose:Oh, here, taste this. It's my special maple syrup, honey, brown sugar, molasses, Rice Krispies log.
Dorothy:How practical. A snack you can panel your den with.
What does “A snack you can panel your den with.” mean?
2.
Blanche:Just look at this man. He is obviously guilty as sin. I don't even know why they bother with a trial.
Rose:What trial?
Blanche:Oh, the Duncan Osgood trial. That big society murder over in Palm Beach.
Rose:What makes you so sure he's guilty?
Blanche:His wife was found at the bottom of their private lake clutching his dickey in her hand.
When Blanche is saying"clutching his dickey in her hand." there is so loud laughter. I don't know why this sentence was supposed to be laughing.
3.
“But I'm begging you, while we're sleeping together, please lay off the broccoli at dinner, huh?”
Why can't eat broccoli? I rarely eat it so I'm not sure why.
