How do you say this in Arabic?
I was talking to a language partner and I couldn't explain that I did the weekly food shopping to him. Unfortunately I've forgotten how he explained it. In England we say "I did the grocery shopping " but I don't know if I can directly translate that into Arabic.

Salam Saqib :)
When I tell someone that I went grocery shopping, I usually mean that I bought
food including fruits, vegetables, meat, yoghurt, chicken, cheese, crackers....etc
So the easiest way to say it in Arabic is: تسوّقتُ الطّعام/ تسوّقتُ واشتريتُ الطعام/ اشتريتُ الطعام

You can simply say: مشتريات الأسبوع, or perhaps: حاجات الأسبوع.
