What's the difference between 'emotion' and 'emotions'?
Hi,
I wonder what the differences between 'emotion' and 'emotions' are. If possible, could you give me examples? Thanks a lot.

Hi Jacqueline,
"Emotions" is in the plural form while "emotion" is in the singular form.
Example:
The was a surge of emotion while he recounted the accident. (Singular)
The counsellor have a lecture on various emotions. (Plural)
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Lance

Sure.
Non-count: "He said it with a lot of emotion".
This sentence means that he is feeling ONE emotion very strongly while he speaks.
Countable: "He felt several emotions, but anger was the strongest"
Here, he feels MORE THAN ONE emotion.
Hope that helps.
