Hi Jesús, "Drive off" in this sentence simply means to drive away from the location. As Jeff already pointed out, it can also mean to drive away rather quickly. However if you see "drive off" followed by a place, it means something different: that the person drove his/her vehicle off the edge of that place (for example: "He accidentally drove off the cliff and fell into the sea below").
