Question for Germanic people I heard that othere Germanic(Germans,Dutch,Swedish) people can speak English well. Sometimes as well as their native language.Is it true?

Well, here in Germany, I wouldn't call it native-like. But yes, most Germans are more or less fluent in English. A bit less among people who grew up behind the iron curtain, but even there, the youth is catching up (probably similar to the situation in the Czech Republic). In the Netherlands and in the nordic countries, the level is better. One of the reasons is that they don't dub movies and TV shows, but only add subtitles in the local language. Thus, there is a lot of spoken English on TV and in cinemas, which makes it easy to pick up the language.

In Denmark it varies greatly how well people speak English, but on average the level of English proficiency is among the highest in the world for non-native speakers. I agree with Alexandre that one of the reasons is that foreign TV and films are not dubbed into Danish. But Danes don’t speak English as well as they speak Danish.
