Is it possible to say "I like it that..." in Chinese? Hi, I've been wondering if I can use the "I like it that..." type of sentence in Chinese. For example: I like it that you are always optimistic and energetic. - 我喜欢你一直很积极和精神。 Everybody likes it that she is friendly and warm. - 大家都喜欢她很友好和热情。 I like it that there are lots of parks here. - 我喜欢在这儿有很多公园。 Thanks a lot!

In Chinese, there is no such grammar connecting tow different sentences together by "that", " who", "what", "which" , the sentence"s construction is made according to the key verb in the sentence, some appear the same to English like " I think you are a clever girl 我想你是个聪明的女孩“ or " I know you are learning Chinese 我知道你在学中文” . But as to "like喜欢", it is very different. We can only say " like doing something (himself or herself) “ or " like something" , we can't say "like sb to do or doing something". If you have a critical idea you would probably think why "think" "know" can do that but " like" can't, then I agree with you, it does have some exceptions to the use of " like 喜欢”. Anyway, every language is developing, and Chinese people don't follow standard speaking rules often in oral speaking , part of the reason is affected by English.

Thank you Cattail! :) Now I have one question left: Did you write 大家都喜欢她的热情和友好 because 热情 and 友好 can be both adjectives and nouns or I really can take any adjective and say 我喜欢你的...(adjective)?

No, they seem weird in Chinese.
