Could someone tell me if the following sentences mean the same? Hi, Could someone tell me if the following sentences mean the same? 1. We must not discount information about that. 2. We must not disregard information about that. 3. We must not neglect information about that. I believe those are similar with each other, but if there is any difference in meaning or nuance, could someone kindly explain about it for me? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks, Nanako

1 and 2 mean the same thing. 3 sounds a little unnatural. When you are using "neglect" with this meaning, usually it's with a verb: "We neglected to pay attention." (This is not true when you use neglect to mean not caring for a child or an animal--in that case you use the noun, "They neglected their daughter.")

Hmmmm. I've never heard "discount information" being used casually. "Discount" or "Neglect" is the colloquial way to go.
