If it's not a mistake what is it? When I was doing my test I came across the sentence, "_____ Ned ever _________ (go) abroad?" I put "Have Ned ever gone abroad?" It appears to be a mistake, I agree. But the instruction says, "Complete the sentences. Use the correct form of the verb in brackets." So, in this sentence I have the verb in brackets "(go)". There are several forms of this verb, and I guess "been" is not the form of the verb "go". So, I can't say, "Have Ned ever been abroad?" Anyway my question is why they have wtitten "_____ Ned ever _________ (go) abroad?" Not "_____ Ned ever _________ (be) abroad?" And would it be correct to write "_____ Ned ever _________ (go) abroad?" Thank you!
