Confused with Spanish articles
There are three sentences:
1) yo soy profesor de inglés
2) yo soy una maestra de inglés
3) el es el medico para mi familia
Would you mind explaining why we omit the article in the first sentence, add the indefinite article in the second and put the definite article in the last one?
Thank you in advance :)

It is easy. You can not use article, to use the definite article or to use the indefinite article in all three sentences, but the meaning will be different.
Without article you are taking in general. Example: Yo soy maestra de inglés. (English teacher in general)
With the indefinite article you are taking in general but usually you give more information, not so general, more specific.
With the definite article you are a definite teacher. Example: Yo soy la maestra de inglés de esta clase (The english teacher for this classroom in particular)

"Soy profesora de inglés" no article for professions
"Soy una buena profesora" (efficient teacher) description
"Soy una profesora buena" "nice teacher""good character" or "efficient". It is a description but it could be confusing.
"Soy la profesora de tu hijo" (not among other teachers)

Another and more simple way to understand this is to use this rule: after "ser" omit the article in front of an occupation/profession. Include the article if the occupation/profession is further described by an adjective.
Mi tío es profesor. Mi tío es un profesor bueno.

Hola Salta,
Saludos
