Songs and TV shows are an excellent way to listen to lots of English but it will only help you to improve your passive language skills. I recommend you keep a notebook with you when listening to songs or watching tv and write down words or phrases that you don't fully understand - look them up later and if they are likely to be useful learn them. You also need to practise writing and speaking with people who can correct your English. If you later find you need support with using more complex grammar and to improve your accuracy, then a teacher is the best way forward. Good luck!
