Does the word "바람막이" have another meaning besides "Windbreaker" ?
Hi everyone,
I've been translating an episode of a recent Korean drama and have been stuck regarding the following sentence : "게다가 바람막이까지 아주 잘 해 놨어요."
I dont think the word "바람막이" means "windbreaker" here because it wouldn't make much sence but I think it might have to do with being protected from something ?
If it can help, here is some context : before saying that sentence, the woman speaking says : "His face has never been seen by the public. He is like a faceless CEO." Then she says "게다가 바람막이까지 아주 잘 해 놨어요" and her older brother seems confused as to what 바람막이 means and she tells him he needs to keep up and go on the Internet sometimes.
Can anyone help me ?
(PS : I'm sorry I couldn't write more of that message in Korean. My Korean keyboard has been acting up and I can't use it half of the time.)

바람막이 literally means something that blocks the wind, like a wind wall, as 막이 is the noun form of 막다(block the movement or passage). But the word is as often used in the figurative sense of "protection", something that protects you from unfavorable forces.
In your example, it probably refers to certain arrangements the CEO has made in case his enemies or the law comes after him. Most likely it means connections he has with influential politicians and government officials he can turn to for help if he gets in trouble.
게다가 바람막이까지 아주 잘 해 놨어요 = On top of that, he has also made nice arrangements to protect himself.
