What's the difference between "specific" and "specified" ? + the meaning of "strike by" ?
1) I was looking for other meanings of the word "head" and found out this sentence:
"to move in a specified direction"
Why didn't they use "SPECIFIC" ? Can you explain what's the difference and when I use each one?
2) I was reading and this sentence got me confused
"... there are lots of players arrested for smoking weed and there is other people's behavior that goes way beyond that and it's tolerated because they're very famous players. I suppose the thing I was STRUCK BY was, we did have a guy who was reprimanded for weed on the film, essentially, so obviously what Johnny has been accused of is much greater than that."
What did he mean with "struck by" in this case? (surprised? or something like "it got me thinking..."?)
Thanks in advance.
