"You’re making it into too big a problem" ... - for native English speakers.
Are the two sentences below natural? I suppose North Americans would use “deal” instead of “problem”.
1. You’re making it into too big a problem.
2. You’re making too big a problem out of it.

Hi Mikkel,
They are both correct but #2 flows better and is more often used. Your are also correct. Americans use "deal" but not always. I also hear "you're making a big deal of this" or "you are making this a bigger problem than it has to be".
Hope this helps,
Stephen

We may also say "You're making mountains out of molehills."
"Deal" and "problem" have different connotations. Depending on what the person is doing too much of (is it just activity? or is it negative activity?) I would use one or the other.

Both sentences are fine. Americans also say problem in addition to deal.
