Functions of modal verbs "would" and "could".
I know several uses of these modal verbs, but only one does bother me. I'm talking now about a possibility. Therefore, I have three question, I would be glad to be answered to.
1. Are these modal verbs being used to express a possibility in future?
2. (If 1st is true) Can I, for instance, interchange sentences "I could be there" - "I'm going to be there with the 50% possibility", and "I would be there" - "I'm going to be there with the 80% possibility"?
3. (If 2nd is true). Is it acceptable to use these modal verbs in formal conversations and writings, when talking about future possibilities, or they are only for colloquial English?
Thank you all in advance!

Hi Eugene,
1. The degree of probability for the future from the most certain to the least certain is: will(95%) , should(70%), migh/may/could (50%), won't (0%).
Examples: I will be at the party around 8.
I should be at the party around 8.
I might/may/could be at the party around 8.
I won't be at the party around 8.
2.If you use "to be going to+verb it means it 100% sure.
3. They are not colloquial, they are used in written and spoken language, too.
