What's the meaning of "wonder about" in the following context? I came across this while reading an Enlgish novel.

May be she thought, it was not proper to think of another man, or to wonder about another when she was married to Alex.

I agree with Abbi.  I would add that, in this context, it appears to mean to think about another man in a romantic or sexual way.

“To wonder” is to be curious. It’s a mental activity like thinking, but not a synonym for “think”. 
“I wonder if she likes me” (I don’t know if she likes me, and I’d I’m interested in finding out.)
