Simple Past Tense in English
Sometimes I meet sentences like this
*But he did want to leave.*
Why they use *did* here instead of writing
*But he wanted to leave.*
What's the difference?

Hi Tatyana, I think they use "did want to" to emphasis. In terms of meaning I think it means the same. Cheers!
