"al tiempo" is not correct, at least is not common. "al mismo tiempo" = at the same time, at the same moment, simultaneously "a tiempo" = on time " a los tiempos!!" = it was some time ago

AL TIEMPO and AL MISMO TIEMPO have the same meaning. However, reading some of the answers I can see AL TIEMPO is not as common in some regions, but I have heard it and used it myself. "Vamos a saltar al tiempo, ¿va?..." / "Vamos a saltar al mismo tiempo, ¿va?..."

Sí, son intercambiables. La palabra "mismo" intensifica ( como en ahora vs. ahora mismo) Su uso más habitual es temporal (mientras, simultáneamente....at the same time, at once). Pero tiene otro uso interesante no temporal (además, así como ...as well as) Por ejemplo: estudiar idiomas es útil para trabajar, al tiempo que previene el Alzheimer.

no es lo mismo, al mismo tiempo seria utilizable cuando hacemos o hablamos entre dos o mas personas, osea a la misma vez
