What does "strain" mean in this sentence?
"Drownin’ away from the start to the end
And you’re sailing away and nowhere else to **strain**
Come and take my all away
So far away from the start to the end
And everything seems so veiled and blue
Run away, sail away"
It's from a song called "Never Again" from a Japanese drama called "Hirugao". Thank you very much.

"Strain" makes no sense, and doesn't seem to fit the rhyme. Maybe the word is "stray" (to wander off with no particular aim); Portuguese and English treat nasal finals very differently.

Strain is odd here. It is unclear.
Since it is poetry and words are often used in unusual ways, I might suggest the following;
Strain is another word for job. There is no other job/work/ livelihood available.

What I believe may be the issue here is a loss of translation from the Japanese artists, it's probably meant to be stray.
