What do you guys say when someone's always talking about irrelevant things during a conversation? A few lines I came up with are : Are you even listening to us? We aren't there! What kind of bullshit are you talking about? Are there any other expressions?@Cherry, Peachey : Got it. I liked "What kind of bullshit are you talking about?" because it's rather humorous when translated into Korean. Thank you! :) @your's : Oh, talking about irrelevant things is such a 'sin'? @romulus : Thank you. :) @Yume : Hey, Yume ;) I don't know why I haven't thought of that although I'm kinda vindictive when I'm with my friends. XD Thank you! ^^ @Jura : That would be graceful ; I'm not that graceful though. Thank you! :)

Well, it might be irrelevant to me, but it's probably not to them. So I just listen and try to muster up all the appreciation for their subject as I can :) I say : "(insert irrelevant persons name here) I don't care" "What the **** are you talking about?". "What relevance does this have to XYZ?" "You do know I charge by the minute, right?" Or something else on the spot. I generally just get them speaking super fast through body language techniques, so get it over and done with quickly. Sometimes I also do the same to them (who are talking irrelevantly). That's the only way I can do, right? k. It's not good to deal with people like that because it makes us look bad.

Hello Hailey, If you want be polite or decent you don't necessarily have to use the "bullshit" or any f* words. I know it is really annoying when someone does so , but you can say it in a decent way once as in ( for example ): "But what does this have to do with what I was just mentioning right now?" If this person keeps doing so in spite , you better avoid talking to him/her at all ! Probably he/she is doing it consciously to annoy or tease you or maybe the person is that kind ,who has a concentration problem, sort of ADD ( attention deficit disorder ). In all cases you don't really want to deal with such kind of person.

If it's a formal situation and you don't know the person, you can say, "Yes that's very interesting, but I'd like to hear XXXX's opinion" Turn to another person and say 'What do you think about ......................?"

I always go with this line: "wait, listen to me first." or "wait, let me finish first." it really is very annoying when you're at the climax of your conversation and then suddenly some jerk will throw irrelevant topics/things. it is! But as much as you can get hold of your temper, just don't mind that and proceed to your conversation. :)

You could also look directly at them and say "FOCUS!!". Or cover your ears and sing nursery rhymes loudly. :) I agree with Cherry: even though we Australians commonly use the word "bullshit", it can be taken as aggressive so I don't recommend it.
