How can I find out the meaning of kanji by drawing it directly with the mouse? I am reading a book (real book, no e-book) and I want to find out some kanji. Is there a software out there that I can download, which lets me know what a certain kanji means, by inserting the strokes directly with the mouse into the screen? (I have a wacom tablet.) I don't mind if I have to pay. Should be downloadable in Germany. (I'd rather want to find freeware softwares though) Or is there an online dictionary supporting strokes insertion?

http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1B Diese Seite hat ALLES. If you want to learn the kanji the best method is: Heisig. Remembering the Kanji. Any electronic Japanese dictionary will give you the meaning of Kanjis. Most of them come with a writing pad as well. If cost is no problem I suggest you go out and buy one. They're not cheap. As for stroke insertion on a PC, that stuff comes with Microsoft's IME. I still think you are better off using the web page above. You really should learn how Kanji are constructed.
