If you want to say that someone brings light or happiness for your life,you can say:你是我生命中的阳光；if you want to describe someone is optimistic,positive, never feel depressed or give up and likes to help others,you can say:你像一缕阳光。

"ray of sunshine" can be translated as “ 一道阳光"or "一缕阳光"
"u r a ray of sunshine"can be translated as"你是我心中的一缕阳光,(温暖了我寂寞的心房）"
