What "System of a down" wants to say with the song "Toxicity"?

While getting to sleep, I realize, I forgot about the title, which I think says quite a lot in a single word: /Toxicity/ : contraction of 'toxic city', with the meaning : / how well we dwell in our toxic cities and hardly realize it /

=== === I never read their lyrics until now, === here is the little I figured out / Conversion, software version 7.0, / : our time is full of inessential stuff, our life is being stolen, we are accomplices with the thieves / Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub / we are always at the wheel, but our horizon is shrinking, we don't get anywhere interesting /Eating seeds as a past time activity/ : we dare to eat our own life (seed is metaphor for life in my view) and we eat or get stoned, our bad directed hunger spoils us, and we mistake that for entertainment /The toxicity of our city, of our city/ the way we built our cities is not healthy and there is so little we can do about it; / How do you own disorder, disorder, / : we can rule our 'disorder' but that is ironic, is like 'owing an illness', poor consolation! / Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep, / : yet you try to preserve some mental health, (sacred silence, sleep), for a moment refusing the extreme noise of our world, but ... you get a transitory consolation (somewhere, you don;t even realize where you got it) and ... / Disorder, disorder, disorder. / chaotic life allures you and chaos will catch you again / More wood for their fires, loud neighbors, / work, work, work, make noise to assert your life / Flashlight reveries caught in the headlights of a truck / always on the move (truck, road) and your mind full of this world that used to be immense, but now in a poor one dimension as the strip of a road is. /Eating seeds as a past time activity/ : eating the future (seed: future), getting stoned and killing time (the worst that could be done, after homicide --- my personal opinion --) / When I became the sun, I shone life into the man's hearts, / : this seems a Pink Floyd almost-verbatim-quotation; is the Artist talking about his blazing success and inspiration ? === === thank you, Cloudbender for posing a question I enjoyed to think about ===

I think Andrew posted a great analysis. Something else to think about is that System of A Down's songs are mostly political. System of a Down is one of my all time favorite bands.
