the "grammar in use" books are really good. I do notice some of answers are "more british" than american english though.

Also, just an FYI -- :A friend of mine suggested ME these books. You suggest something to someone. You recommend something to someone. You suggest/recommend that someone do something A friend of mine recommended these books (to me) A friend of mine suggested (that) I use these books to study for the IELTS.

I love the Grammar in Use series. In addition to whatever books you use, make sure to check out this site https://ieltsliz.com/ I have nothing to do with it, but her stuff is pretty amazing.
