Miguel Báez

I have been working with prof Miguel for almost a year. He is my favourite teacher out of the various ones I have used on italki. Miguel is attentive throughout the lesson and is also incredibly thoughtful about his lesson plans. For example, today in class he themed the class around my dogs who he knows I am obsessed with and will be so engaged with the lesson. The actual lesson plan and homework reflected this theme which is so thoughtful. I think Miguel is an incredible teacher and I feel very lucky to have found him.

Miguel is very fun to work with, he is reliable and extremely knowledgeable as a Spanish professor! We have great conversations and I have learned to speak (conversationally) much better in just 3 short months. I look forward to continuing the lessons and becoming a completely fluent Spanish speaker, thanks to his support and excellent teaching!

Miguel is a fantastic teacher, especially if literature is something you're interested in. He selects works appropriate to your level and interest and provides you significant runway to use the language, while making the class feel like a dialogue between equals. I can't recommend him enough!

I came to Miguel with the ability to speak some Spanish already; however, I feel like I have learned a lot over just the last few weeks. I feel more confident in my ability to hold a conversation, especially in past tense. I used to really struggle with this before taking classes with Miguel. He is knowledgable, patient, and engaging during each class. I look forward to more classes with him.
