I'm 28 years old from Indiana, America. I'm currently living and working in Tokyo, Japan. I've been teaching English for four years now, and I love meeting new students from all over the world. Some of my hobbies include dancing, hiking, and running! Let's share our experiences and stories from around the world and learn from each other. I'm TEFL certified. If you do not attend the lesson on time, I will wait for 15 minutes before I will end the lesson and mark it as completed. Please understand that I only accept lesson time changes within 24 hours through the iTalki request system. Each student may have one last-minute reschedule or cancellation per month. Thank you! 🙏 🫶

My main goal is to find interesting articles, videos, movies, or music that we can discuss together in class. I believe that language learning happens fastest when we enjoy the material and it's relevant to our lives. If we just memorize textbook phrases or vocabulary lists that are boring to us, we'll never remember anything! But if you want to talk about the amazing movie you watched last weekend, your favorite music, or the funny story that happened to you when you were with your friends, learning will happen much more easily. I'm happy to provide quizzes, tests, or test-prep for any students who request it. I want to provide whatever is best for your personal learning style.

I teach lower intermediate- upper advanced learners of English using interesting news articles and videos about the latest global developments as well as pop-culture/entertainment. These materials have double benefits. Not only will you receive valuable English practice, but you will also be using materials directly related to your daily life that will be useful in allowing you to interact naturally and fluently with native speakers. The variety of news articles will also allow you to learn about a wide array of new topics and learn new vocabulary at a much faster rate. I will teach whatever topics interest my students - Cooking, Literature, Fashion, Video Games - Anything is okay!
