Hey! My name is Catarina, Im from the south of Portugal but living and working as a teacher in Barcelona for some time now. I speak spanish with fluency and also english. I love chatting about psychology, philosophy and arts! What I love about Italki is that its a great way to expand horizons and at the same time help people with their portuguese. I spend most of my time dancing. I used to dance tango but now I'm more focused in contemporary and hip hop. I also love drawing and writing!Öğretmen Olarak Ben
As a teacher, I learned that each student has different goals and needs, so I really like to get to know my student before we start our classes. The students are the ones that have been dictating what type of classes should I give and how can I construct an efficent method to teach.
Ive been teaching for quite some time and what I really love about this job is the opportunity to get to know different types of people and share the knowledge I have about my country and its language. I love to share what I know about Portugal and also to get to know about my student’s countries and interests. I find that the most useful strategy is speaking as much as we can with a native speaker, recognize structures and words and be brave enough to make mistakes. In my classes, I like to know what the students learning goals are so I can adapt my classes to my students needs. In my basic level classes theres a lot of effort putting on learning the basis of the language and its structures, but always focusing in speaking and comprehension. In my conversational classes we will just have fun, practice as much as we can!Öğretim materyallerim

Great teacher, she is very friendly, and made me feel very comfortable and not judged at all when speaking in my very poor (for now) portuguese. I’ll be taking more classes with her for sure ☺️

As a beginner, I really appreciated Catarina being patient and going over some basic grammar and pronunciation with me. She was well organised and I enjoyed the class a lot. I'll be booking another lesson soon! :)

I wanted to have challenging lessons and get enough homework so that I could work on my Portuguese in my free time. Catarina delivers that, explains things very well and uses her creativity to make the lessons more interesting. She is flexible, so I'm sure her teaching style would suit many different needs. I enjoy the lessons a lot and look forward to the next ones!
