Maru 🍣

I take Maru-sensei's lessons regularly, and am very grateful for her ongoing help and support with my Japanese learning. She's been very accommodating, and the format of our lessons have evolved over time as my needs have changed. These days, I'm using Japanese more in work related situations, so I've really appreciated being able to practise those kinds of scenarios. Thank you for the continued help and support in my studies! I'm looking forward to the many lessons that are yet to come, and am grateful for the time, effort and energy that you put in. Thank you!

Maru has done a wonderful job teaching me enough to adequately communicate clearly and respectfully while on holiday in Japan. I don't need to fully immerse myself into the language, but I wanted to know enough to be clear and kind in communication. when in Japan. she has tailored my curriculum accordingly. Would recommend

Maru Sensei is an amazing teacher! It's hard to believe that it has only been two months since I started taking lessons with Maru sensei. In our initial lesson, I was honestly struggling even with basic greetings like hello and goodbye. Despite this, Maru Sensei has been incredibly patient and kind, always encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone—a quality I really appreciate. Now, as my Japan trip approaches, I'm confident in my ability to grasp basic Japanese and engage with locals. There’s still so much to learn, but the progress I've made in such a short time is beyond what I could have ever anticipated. I fully intend to continue my lessons with Maru Sensei post-trip and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone eager to become conversational in Japanese!

I had a great first class (first ever Japanese class!) with Maru. She was very friendly, patient and really created a fun learning environment for an absolute beginner such as myself. I left the class feeling very motivated to learn more basic phrases and really continue with my Japanese learning journey. I recommend any beginner to book with Maru!
